Speaking of television, now that I live in a house with a three-soon-to-be-four-year old, all of the DVRs are set to record his favorite shows at all hours of the day. Children’s television isn’t something I give a lot of thought to, because it is SUPER-ANNOYING. (Why don’t you have hair Cailou? WHERE IS YOUR HAIR? Do you have cancer Cailou? Is that part of the lesson?) I watched an episode of The Wizards of Waverly Place that an ex-boyfriend penned and I kind of wanted to (insert suicidal cliche here) myself. I got through it, but only barely.
But you know what’s disconcerting? When I leave the room with Chris Matthews on my television yelling about freezing discretionary spending and come back to Kai-Lan singing, ”Everything you do. Think what your friends need too.”
I WILL DO NO SUCH THING KAI-LAN. KEEP YOUR RHYMING LESSONS TO YOURSELF.
Also Kai-Lan looks like the anime-ish characters that triggered River Tam in Serenity. I’m pretty sure Kai-Lan is going to turn all of our children into a super-race of fighting telepaths who strike when triggered by cutesy Japanese songs or possibly the Sazuki method.
